what is a podcast

What is a podcast?
A podcast is a series of audio or video digital-media files which is distributed over the Internet by syndicated download, through Web feeds, to portable media players and personal computers. Though the same content may also be made available by direct download or streaming, a podcast is distinguished from other digital-media formats by its ability to be syndicated, subscribed to, and downloaded automatically when new content is added. -taken from Wikipedia

Why should I sign up to Kenny Grants house podcast?
If you are a dj or house head, subscribing to this FREE podcast means that you won’t miss any new episodes featuring the best and latest house tunes from around the globe. It’s a great way to keep your ipod, cd player, or computer filled with new and current house music.

What software do I need to subscribe to a podcast?
You need to install a piece of software which will search the web to find the latest episode and automatically deliver it to your computer.

This software is usually free, and the top three are popular with kennygrant.ca users are iTunes, Juice and Doppler. Scroll down the page for instructions for each client. Alternatively, you can subscribe via email, and receive email notification of any future episodes (subscribe via email subscription in sidebar).

Listen to the audio
When a new episode becomes available, your software will automatically download it. You can then listen to this show or episode on your pc or transfer it to your portable player to listen to later.

You may want to check the settings of your podcast software for details including how often it will check for new episodes, whether it will keep old episodes for you etc. This will vary depending on the software you have chosen, and your personal preferences.

If you decide that you no longer want to receive podcast episodes then it should be very easy to unsubscribe. Again, how you do this will depend on your software, but you should look for “Clear” or “Unsubscribe” options.
