Hi Kenny - it's always fun to do a blogging about blogging post, and think about what this means.

There are definitely things people sensor themselves about. I've gone back and forth with various splitting and merging of presence over time. I'm pretty happy with my long form blog that really is the "professional me". If you follow my links blog carefully, you get things a bit more uncensored.

Chris Dixon recently wrote about how he consumes throughout the week and aims for one blog post about what he has learned or thinking about. That is a personal goal, not an audience goal. If you aren't blogging for yourself first, it's going to be hard to keep doing.

Also: the phrase "strategic presence" makes me gag. If this isn't you, why bother?

Thanks for this. So fascinating. I can't believe Cleese has a science background. I heard recently to be mindful (present and aware), you need to be mindless. Cleese uses the example of getting stuck on a problem then going to sleep, waking up and the problem being resolved (so much so he couldn't remember what the original problem was!). I love the bit where he says we get our ideas from our unconscious. We just need to slow down, empty our mind first, create an 'oasis in our life' and then let the ideas just download... lol. Boundaries of space and boundaries of time.
