As Halloween approaches, its starting to get dark and gloomy. With that in mind, I’ve been playing a lot of warmer funky beats. Sonny Fodera has been on fire, and could literally fill my entire chart.. but instead, i’ll post my top 10 house music chart for October (minus Sonny):

just ridiculous. Taking me back to 2000.. sweet spot
  • Ricky L – Born Again
    purple music delivers pure fire
  • Aly-Us – Follow Me (Fred Everything & Oliver Desmet)
the old classic gets a revisit, simple grooving melodies. Fantastic.
  • Michel Cleis – La Mazcla (copyright remix)
great building track, watch the heads turn and churn any dancefloor
  • Keri chandler – Heal My Heart (Fanatix DJ Tool)
It was tough to choose a favourite mix, but this simple groover sets the stage for bigger and better. Very effective
  • Oliver Desmet – Just like heaven
great production, great remix. Hard to pick a favorite remix
  • Organized Crime – Feel Me Up
my feelings for you have always been real
  • Bart Simpson – Easy Come Easy Go
simple and just works. Great bouncy bassline to get the bins and floor moving
  • John Hawley – Electric Lush
feel good house, sitting on top of the world. The ladies love this.
  • Crazy P – The Hit
don’t even know what to say, but one of my fav tracks of the year… by a mile
  • Chris Harris – this is it
    bouncy whoop whoop music.. amazing

  • Justin Michael & Phonic Funk – Take Me To The Sky (Funk Soldiers)
I really love either of the Funky Soldier remixes, such a great building track.

What a contagious beat, has a nice groove to it, i’m really feelin it
  • Distant People – Just Sing (MuthaFunkaz Music Mix)
Take your pick, all strong remixes and the vocal is slammin. Prefer the sax mix with muthafunkz edit
  • Mario Fabriani – Spudda Dudda Doo
Jackin house, JY can do no harm, bring him back :(
  • Chocolate Puma – Whohaddrums

Track of the year imo, can’t get this out of my head

This is the first installment of some the latest new house tunes releases from around the globe.  Feel free to listen to the samples, comment, or post your top 10 tunes.

  • Shapeshifters – lolas theme 2008
such great memories for the original, can you believe the original was released 4 years ago?
    sample
  • Joey Youngman – Master Blaster
    disco fun madness
    sample
  • Quentin Harris – Can’t Stop (Daddys Groove Dub)
there’s a few remixes that can work for any room, i’m really feeling the Daddys Groove remix, but you can’t go wrong with Joeys edit.
    sample
  • Mousse T – Tiefschwaz Gets Horny
i’m horny gets some re-edits, I like the tiefschwars edit best at least until the awkward breakdown that kinda comes out of no where.
    sample
  • Joey Negro – Love Hangover 2008 remixes
dj spen leads the charge with 3 new edits of this classic funky house tune. I prefer the orig, but the dj spen club mix is a refreshing edit.
    sample
  • DJ Gomi – Glad I Found You
Defected have re-released this gem with some additional remixes but the Scott Wozniak and blaze remixes will stay within the crate for me… always brings big smiles
    sample
  • Insatiable – Back to Fundamentals
Despite the current state of ‘bleep bleep’ music throughout clubland, back to fundamentals does exactly that and delivers a few house tracks with soul! If nothing works for you, i’m sure the acapella will come in hand.
